Poznan – Euro 2012 – Italy vs Croatia

Croatian fans

Just as with the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, I had to experience at least one game of the Euro 2012 Soccer championships. Tickets were hard to come by and quite expensive for the Polish games so Kendall and I had to settle for the Italy vs Croatia group stage match in Poznan. We killed two birds with one stone as not only did we get to see a Euro match, but we also got to visit Poznan for first time.

Back in 2007 when Poland was announced as one of the host countries of the second most important soccer tournament in the world, I made the decision that I would do whatever it takes to be in the my home country for the tournament. Aussie Rules Football

Last week Kendall and I managed to take in an Aussie Rules Football (footy) match. She actually surprised me with tickets!  The game was the home opener for one of the two AFL teams in Western Australia, the West Coast Eagles. Yey Snow!

It has been almost a month since I got to Winnipeg and things are just now starting to get interesting. Weather wise that is. We had 20 cm of snow the other week and another 10-15 today. Temperature wise it is a bit cooler then normal, hovering around between -10 and -18 degrees. Not to bad, but comparing to the plus 14 that Ottawa got the other week it is kinda depressing. Well at least our friends in Vancouver are sharing the cold :) . Kendall and I ventured around her house, which is adjacent to the Red River and frolicked in the snow! It was fun! Dave you wanted some Winnipeg snow pictures, well here they are (my battery died so I couldn’t take more).
